EMERGENT MINIMAL SURFACES

IN COMPUTER NUMERIC MATERIAL PROCESSES

2017-06 Pablo Lorenzo-Eiroa's Research on Materials with Gabriel Munnich and Yaoyi Fan was exhibited in Barcelona at the UIC, Directed by Alberto Estevez. This exercise consists on activating a minimal surface out of stressing material qualities. In this particular case, the thinning out of the material accumulates in topographic countours by modifying the typical tool path of the CNC to activate a material deformation, This material deformation produces the emergence of a minimal surface with double curvature out of square instructions in the CNC machine.
